Turning Love Into Power II Fundraiser Set for February 11th, 2012

In an encore performance, the Friends of Grace led by Susan Ballard, Laura Maier, Tammy Taylor, and Susan Graham will be hosting Turning Love Into Power II (TLIP II) on February 11th, 2012 at the Woodway Country Club, Darien CT.  The event is the primary fundraiser for the RE Children's Project.  Please let us know if you would like to attend by e-mailing swohlberg@rechildrens.com.  All donations are welcomed.  More details to follow.....
 

Darien Youth Commission raises funds for RE Children's

Our hearfelt thanks to Alicia Sillars, Youth Director of the Darien Youth Commision, and all of the 8th-graders who participated in the TOPS Black and White Dance on November 4th.  During the evening $230 was raised and donated to the RE Children's Project.  As Alicia stated in her letter to me, "We know every donation makes a difference regardless of how small or large itmay be."  We are so appreciative and grateful for the continued support of the Youth Commission.  Blue Wave Pride being passed along from the parents to our kids is what our town is all about.  Thanks TOPS!
 

Swim-A-Thon Raises $5,900

On Friday, July 22nd Grace and the swim team at the Middlesex Club displayed incredible courage and community spirit by participating in a swim-a-thon to raise awareness for the RE Children's Project.  Grace led the way by swimming a mile.  Go to the TV Channel to see a video of the event as well as Grace swimming.  Many thanks to Marj Trifone and Megan Brown for organizing the event.  We are so thrilled that Grace was able to get back into the pool this summer and do something that she loves.

The RE Children’s Project is a 501 (c) (3) TAX ID - (27-1377807) organization devoted to Rasmussen’s Encephalitis, most importantly the search to find a cure. Rasmussen’s Encephalitis is a rare neurological condition that impacts children primarily under 13 years of age rendering them paralyzed on one side of their body and experiencing incurable epilepsy.  In many cases, the removal of ½ of the brain is the only solution to stop the uncontrollable seizures.
